SEN Teaching Assistants
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and confident SEN Teaching Assistant in Poole.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working at a 38 and 52 week mixed-gender residential school for students aged 7-19 with a diagnosis of autism, or whose difficulties place them on the autistic spectrum. Day provision is available for students who live close by.
The students at the school often have complex needs, learning difficulties associated with autism and challenging behaviour. This school believes that children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) do not progress and develop if left alone. Only with consistent, appropriate intervention will they learn the skills necessary to achieve their potential in later life.
Following this, it is essential all applicants have experience working with children or adults that have special needs. The Assistant Principle believes that the perfect Teaching Assistant is defined as someone who is a team player, mentally strong, someone who goes the extra mile, is innovative and able to think ahead.
What can you bring?
The school are willing to allow their staff to transfer any existing skills or interests to the classroom, do you have something exciting you could bring to the table?
The school is not easily accessed so it would be beneficial if you have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
