SEN Teaching Assistant
Manchester
Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our client schools Special Educational Department.
Due to a gap in staffing at our client school, Teaching Personnel are looking for a motivated and caring Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will liaise with the school SENCO and classroom teachers and will provide appropriate support to student s with individual education plans. (IEPs)
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for motivating and encouraging pupils with SEN by providing individual attention, reassurance and support with learning tasks. You will effectively implement the schools behaviour management strategies and will help students with their speech, language, reading, spelling, numeracy and handwriting both in and out of the classroom.
We are looking for someone who is confident and will be able to establish supportive relationships with pupils with Special Educational Needs. Previous experience of supporting secondary aged students with SEN is essential for this role.
The successful Teaching Assistant will join a large mainstream secondary school located in the East area of Manchester. The school has just fewer than 1000 pupils on roll and caters for an extremely diverse community. For those who drive, the school is located a short drive from the city centre has a large car park that is accessible for all staff members. For those on public transport, the school is easily accessible via public transport links from the city centre and surrounding areas.
