SEN Teaching assistant job South Croydon and Addington

If you have experience of supporting autism and are looking for a learning support assistant position within an SEN school I would love to hear from you!

This primary SEN school caters for children with autism and other complex needs, most of whom are non-verbal and use PECs, Makaton or other visual aids to communicate. The school is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic member of staff to join their team and begin work as soon as possible.

You will be working in a key stage 1 small class size of 9 students and there will be a class teacher and up to 3 other teaching assistants in the classroom.

The following are essential to apply for work at this school:

  • A DBS registered on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one asap
  • References from your previous employers
  • Previous experience of supporting autism
  • Willing to provide personal care for students who need assistance with toileting/changing
  • Knowledge of PECs, Makaton or BSL
  • Education to at least A Levels, or an equivalent level 3 qualification

Training courses are available through Teaching Personnel, which are heavily subsidised. This school invest in long term members of staff, and there is potential to secure a permanent job here if you are successful.
