SEN Teaching Assistant

Large school in Oldham seeking SEN Teaching Assistants

Working closely with our client school in Oldham we are looking to appoint 2 SEN Teaching Assistants to join the department after October half term. These are both full time positions and will involve working on a 1:1 and group basis with pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or any other SEMH or behaviour difficulties. Due to the nature of this position, previous experience working in a supportive role for individuals with special educational needs is essential, although we would consider applications from individuals with transferable experience, such as having family members with additional needs.

  • Full time position working as a Teaching Assistant within the SEN department of a large secondary school in Oldham, supporting pupils with a variety of different needs, whether these are behavioural, SEN or SEMH.
  • Working in a supportive environment with further development opportunities for the correct candidate within a closeknit team in the SEN department
  • Further training and development opportunities available through Teaching Personnel's specialist CPD training programmes in our partnership schools around Manchester
  • The school is easily accessable via the M60 ringroad, or alternatively it is located close to major public transport links to the City Centre

The school are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant with previous experience working within a Secondary school's SEN department, however would consider applications from individuals with similar transferable experience. The perfect candidate would have strong SEN experience and have a warm and approachable domineer with strong behaviour management skills and the ability to work in a team as well as using their own initiative. In turn the school would be able to offer an enjoyable, supportive working environment where you will have the opportunity to make a serious difference in young peoples lives as well as being offered real development opportunities through the school's training programmes as well as Teaching Personnel's further development scheme.
