Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant who has previously worked with Children with Special Educational Needs, such as Autism (High and Low Functioning), ADHD, Social and Emotional Mental Health, Global Delay and/or Behavioural difficulties.
The position available is in a Primary school in Kensington who are looking to appoint an additional support staff member to provide intervention across several year groups for children special needs. Though the school is looking to appoint a candidate with good knowledge of the education system and of SENs, they have confirmed that they may also consider applications from Graduates who are looking to start their career in education, depending on their background.
The role :
You will be providing support on a curricular basis with English, Maths and Science (potentially also with languages, art and music if your background enables you to do so) in a one-to-one or small group setting. It is vital for you to be patient, caring and have a nurturing figure to make the children feel confident and trusting. Candidates with tutoring backgrounds will be considered and a knowledge of the British curriculum would be beneficial.
Applicants must :
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Be living in London and/or have plans to move to London in the near future and/or be willing to travel to West/Central London
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start within the next two weeks
