SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role

Location: Irlam
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Overview

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Irlam, currently looking to appoint a committed SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting in September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide dedicated one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them to thrive within a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

Your Key Duties

In this role, you will:

  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities
  • Support the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, adapting support where required

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupil progress and wellbeing
  • A commitment to safeguarding practices
  • Level 2 Safeguarding (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
