Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Location: BL4, Bolton Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term

About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in a welcoming primary school in the BL4 area of Bolton.

This role is ideal for a compassionate and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
  • Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies
  • Support the child’s emotional, social, and behavioural development
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Adapt classroom activities to ensure full inclusion
  • Track and report on pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language needs)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour where required
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
