Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Levenshulme to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This rewarding opportunity will focus on supporting pupils with speech and language needs, helping them to develop their communication skills, confidence, and independence both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis and within small groups, providing tailored support to help them access learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with speech and language difficulties throughout the school day.
• Deliver targeted interventions alongside class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals.
• Encourage confidence, engagement, and positive social interactions.
• Create a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff.
• Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans and intervention strategies.
• Support pupils in developing communication, social, and emotional skills.
• Help create a positive learning experience that promotes independence and achievement.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
• A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative school team.
• SEN-related training or qualifications (desirable).
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
