Job description

Teaching Assistant – Year 2 SEN Support (Levenshulme)
Start Date: January 2026 | Full-Time: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be partnering with a well-regarded primary school in Levenshulme, currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 2 with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role includes a mix of one-to-one work and small group support, helping children thrive in a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

The school, rated “Good”, is committed to supporting the spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual development of every child, ensuring all pupils—regardless of ability—can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support to pupils with SEN, both individually and in small groups
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities
  • Support the implementation, monitoring, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help maintain an inclusive, positive learning environment that encourages engagement
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to promote holistic development

Candidate Requirements

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Level 2 Safeguarding qualification (training available if required)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
