An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Early Careers Teacher to join our supportive primary school in Irlam (M44) on a full-time maternity cover basis from September 2026 until July 2027.

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and nurturing professional who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a positive difference within our Resource Provision.

The Role

The successful candidate will undertake a range of HLTA responsibilities, including:

• Covering whole classes when required
• Planning and delivering lessons in line with teacher guidance and school expectations
• Supporting teaching and learning across the Resource Provision
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals
• Delivering high-quality SEND support and targeted interventions
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment for all pupils

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold HLTA status or equivalent experience or an ECT looking to build expereince before full class teaching
• Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
• Have strong knowledge and understanding of SEND
• Be adaptable, proactive and able to work independently
• Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Be committed to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
