The Opportunity

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop independence, and build positive relationships within the school environment.

You may support pupils with:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Communication and interaction difficulties
• Additional learning needs
• Physical or sensory needs
• Moderate to complex learning difficulties

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering one-to-one and small group support
• Assisting pupils in accessing classroom learning
• Supporting targeted interventions and learning activities
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and support staff
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress where required
• Supporting personal care needs when appropriate
• Helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with children or young people
• Be caring, patient, and resilient
• Understand the importance of inclusive education
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills
• Be adaptable and responsive to individual needs
• Hold a relevant qualification in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or a related field (desirable but not essential)
