Teaching Assistant (SEMH/SEN) – Full Time 

BL3 Area

Start Date: September

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) and SEN (Special Educational Needs)?

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive school in the BL3 area for a full-time Teaching Assistant to start in September. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the pupils who require additional support in.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH and SEN needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Help students access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH and/or SEN.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with vulnerable learners.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential, experience is required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
