SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Salford
Start Date: September
Full-Time Position

Teaching Personnel is pleased to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Salford in their search for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting pupils with speech and language needs, helping them build confidence and reach their full potential.

The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with speech and language difficulties
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCo, class teachers, and external specialists to deliver targeted interventions
  • Help create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor progress and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Play a key role in supporting pupils’ communication, learning, and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with speech and language needs (essential)
  • Is patient, empathetic, and proactive in their approach
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Holds relevant SEN training or qualifications (desirable)
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
