Behaviour Support Assistant – Wythenshawe

We are currently recruiting for a resilient and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a supportive school setting in Wythenshawe.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may display challenging behaviour, helping them to engage positively with their learning and develop key social and emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with behavioural needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Support the class teacher in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement
• Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with behavioural needs (e.g. SEMH, ADHD, ASD)
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
• Resilient, confident, and able to handle challenging situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting young people
