Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Haslingden, Lancashire
Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: As soon as possible

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? A highly respected specialist school in Haslingden is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students aged 4 to 19 with a range of complex needs, including moderate, severe, and profound learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, sensory impairments, and communication needs. You’ll be working in a well-resourced, inclusive environment that prides itself on nurturing each student’s personal development, communication skills, and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils’ learning across a broad and adapted curriculum.
  • Provide individualised care and behaviour support in line with students' EHCPs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
  • Help to create a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Encourage students’ social, emotional, and personal growth.

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Able to use initiative and work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are advantageous but not essential.
