SEN Teacher

Are you a dedicated and adaptable SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity within a specialist, therapeutic education setting? Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an independent SEND provider that supports young people aged 11–18 with social, emotional, behavioural and complex additional needs, offering a flexible, student-centred approach to learning.

Role: SEN Teacher (Temp to Perm)
Location: Preston, Lancashire (independent SEND provision)
Contract: Temporary with strong potential to become permanent
Start Date: Immediate 
Hours: Full-time (term-time)

About the Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver engaging, personalised education to learners with a range of complex needs. You will play a key role in planning and delivering tailored lessons that support academic progress, emotional regulation and personal development within a safe, therapeutic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet individual learner needs.
  • Create and implement personalised learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Support learners on a 1:1 and small-group basis where required.
  • Foster positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement and wellbeing.
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and external professionals.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN, SEMH or complex needs
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour and emotional support
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
  • A commitment to inclusive, therapeutic education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
