Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Pupil Referral Unit in Cardiff who requires a specialised Teacher to work within their school. The role would require the successful Teacher to support whole class and occasionally deal with challenging situations as they arise whilst supporting the support staff within the class.
The school is a Pupil Referral Unit for up to 42 pupils in a primary provision who have either been permanently excluded from mainstream school, due to social, emotional or behavioural difficulties.
The setting provides full time placements to pupils experiencing behavioural difficulties within their mainstream schools and aims to return pupils to mainstream placements wherever possible. Class sizes are small to allow time to focus on individual education plans and promote individual positive behaviour.
The ideal Teacher would have;
- previous experience teaching young people with social, emotional and mental health needs
- strong behaviour management skills
- have sound knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
- have an up-to-date Team - Teach qualification
- have a DBS on the update service
The successful Teacher will have Qualified Teacher Status. They will also have a passion for promoting behavioural development in young people and must be able to act as a positive role model to the young people within this setting. You will need to be proactive, enthusiastic and have a determination to succeed.
In addition to this we are currently working with an number of SEN schools that caters specifically for students between 3-19 who have been diagnosed with a wide range of SEN including PMLD, ASD & MLD. Some of which may have a Statement of SEN which is a legal document to ensure appropriate support is given.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
