Teaching Assistants (Graduate Opportunity)
Location: Cardiff & Rhondda Cynon Taff
Salary: £83.85 per day
Job type: full-time, part-time, and ad hoc opportunities available
Hours: Varies depending on placement (usually between 8.30am-3:30pm)

The Opportunity
The Cardiff West Primary team work in partnerships with many schools across Cardiff and that regularly seek staff on a variable basis (i.e. long-term, short-term or ad hoc placements). Often, the schools require individuals that have excellent literacy and numeracy skills, experience working with children and a great level of professionalism. In many cases, graduates seeking an opportunity to gain further experience within schools, fit this description.
The roles offered vary depending on the needs of the school, however, current vacancies include:
- General cover within the foundation phase
- KS2 intervention (supporting groups of KS2 children with literacy and numeracy)
- Working 1:1 with a pupil in Reception with ASD as a behaviour support assistant
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Help the teacher prepare the classroom for lessons
- Take groups of children for guided reading
- Implement behavioural strategies when needed
- Perform administrative tasks
Who are we looking for?
- Graduates that are seeking an opportunity to further their experience in schools or working with children. Preferrable courses include: Degrees related to Education (i.e. Education Studies), Psychology and Sports Coaching
- Students with previous experience working with children
- Flexible attitude as start dates and opportunities vary

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
