Role: SEN Support
Location: Yate
Salary: GBP60-70 per day
The head teacher of a school in the Wootton-Under-Edge area are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a year 3 child with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time position to start in September or could begin early if schools should open before September. This child has issues with speech language and communication and has funding for support in September. This child has anxiety and struggles with communicating effectively how she is feeling and therefore the classroom environment can be an overwhelming place. In having some 1:1 support the school are hoping the child will become more confident in answering questions and in their own independent learning. In this role you will be working alongside the SENCo in order to create specific activities that aim to improve the child’s speech and communication. This child requires someone who can build a relationship and begin to understand the child’s way of communicating.
The ideal candidate must have strong communication and people skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as will the children and family of the child. It would be excellent if the ideal candidate had experience working with education health care plans or pupils with autism, EAL or SEN. However, all school based experience will be considered.
