Teaching Assistant – Special Needs Primary School
Location: New Forest
Salary: £13.75 per hour
A well-respected special needs primary school in the New Forest is looking for caring and committed Teaching Assistants to join their team supporting children with a variety of additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in helping young learners thrive in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The school caters to children with a wide range of special educational needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and communication challenges. Successful candidates will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning and support, enabling pupils to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting children with special needs during class activities and breaks
-
Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
-
Encouraging the development of social, communication, and independence skills
-
Promoting a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment

Collaborating with staff to meet the varied needs of the pupils
Requirements:

A valid Child Workforce DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one at own expense

Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
-
Experience working with children with special needs is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
