We are working with a school seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join there committed team. Catering to students aged 11–19 with ASC, this school school provides a structured, nurturing, and engaging environment where learners can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. They focus on developing each student’s individual strengths and supporting them to reach their full potential.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support students with a range of needs related to autism. Your role will be vital in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Implement strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
• Promote independence and encourage personal development
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young people with ASC is desirable but not essential – training will be provided
• A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
