Teaching Personnel is working with a college based in Nuneaton that caters for young people aged 14-18, who are completing a variety of courses; Further Education, Degrees, Apprenticeships, Short Courses and Business Training.
Whilst the college is a mainstream college, the school does also have a specialist learning department that allows them to cater for pupils with additional needs. They are currently looking to fill a number of roles through Teaching Personnel.
The ideal candidate for this role, MUST have experience working with general SEN and dealing with challenging behaviour in some capacity. Experience within a school/college environment would be ideal, but not essential. If you have a adaptive and personable personality, you could succeed in this role.
You will be supporting various students, who are studying a range of qualifications. You will be working on both a 1:1 and small group basis. Predominantly, you will be supporting emotionally rather than academically. Students who need this support may have learning difficulties (Autism, MLD) or possibly mental health issues (anxiety, low esteem, challenging behaviour).
What's needed:
- Experience with young people with challenging behaviour is ideal
- Experience working with adults with learning difficulties and mental health issues
- Any experience working with teenagers is desirable
The students you will be supporting require additional support, due to their lack of engagement at school previously or generally challenging behaviour.
The role is a full-time role, with a view to gain a permanent contract with the school.
