SEN Behaviour Mentor Exeter

Date posted : 18/07/19
£1140 - £1300 per month

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

  • Do you have experience working with children who have SEN/SEMH needs?
  • Would you like to work 1:1 with a child requires some additional time and investment, to help them succeed?
  • Would you like to be apart of a school that supports you to get the most out of your role and the pupils you work with?

If you have answered yes to the above questions then I have the perfect role for you!

A few children in a behaviour provision school require 1:1 support, for pupils that could be primary or secondary aged. The children in question have a variety of SEN statements and need support with their reading, writing and social interactions within the classroom.

The children will need a mentor who can be patient, empathetic and kind as you work together throughout the school day. This will be a full-time position, for a full academic year, which will give you the time to develop a strong relationship and really help them progress and work towards their full potential.

The objective is for the pupil to embrace every moment of their Primary school life and have the same opportunities as everyone else. The academic progress needed will help them work to the government guidelines, so they won't fall behind their age groups. The social development is important to help them in the future as they grow into an independent adult.

The school is looking for a mentor who has previous experience and/or qualifications in working with Special Educational Needs and young children. You must be available from September 2019 and available to trial before the end of the academic year.

However if you don't have experience and are passionate and resilient and feel committed to this role or want to find out more - please do give us a call.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with Young Children.
  • Previous experience working with SEN.
  • Available full-time from September 2019 for full-time work.
  • A calm, kind-heart-ed personality with endless patience and support.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one!

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain more experience in a school setting and to gain more understanding of young children and the affect SEN has on their school life.

Teaching Personnel and the school also offer additional training.
