A fantastic opportunity has just arisen in the borough of Harrow for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a Pupil Referral unit. The school caters for pupils aged between 11 – 18 years old with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. The role is to start immediately with the view to go permanent in the New Year. The school are looking for an individual who is able to inspire and support pupils learning. The school offers the successful candidate opportunity for career development in a friendly and well resourced school.

The Successful candidates will:

• Have experience of working with children and young people. Experience of working with children with SEMH, YOT or NEET would be an advantage

• Have excellent Communication and Numeracy skills;

• Have the ability to use ICT effectively to support teaching and learning;

• Have an enthusiastic, imaginative and caring approach to children

• Be able to work as part of a team, building positive relationships with pupils, parents/careers, colleagues including therapists and other professionals;

• Have high expectations of pupil’s achievements regarding learning, independence and behaviour;

• Be able to show initiative and be prepared to take responsibility for delivering programmes to individual and small groups of pupils;
