Job description

Behaviour Support assistant required for Colne Primary school. Team Teach qualification would be desirable.

Teaching Personnel have been approached by 2 using schools to source a strong Teaching Assistant with a Team Teach qualification to work with challenging KS2 class. The aim of Team Teach is to promote de-escalation strategies and to teach a range of positive handling strategies including guiding, escorting and restraint techniques appropriate for children and young people.

You will be required to work on a small group and 1:1 basis with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties including this who will sometimes be challenging on a physical level.

Prior experience working in a PRU, secure unit, young offenders institute or challenging environment is essential!

The ideal candidate will be willing to work on a supply basis initially whilst we seek a longer term / permanent role for you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
