Speech and Language Specialist for SEN support in Central Manchester, M15

  • Work closely with school SENCO and SEN Team

A client school in Central Manchester, M15 requires a teaching assistant to help assist pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). You will work closely with SEN pupils identified with SLCN on both a 1:1 basis and with small groups and will contribute towards a purposeful learning environment by supporting classroom teachers in teaching and learning.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience of working with children with speech and/or communication needs at varying levels and will display outstanding inter-personal skills. You will need to be patient and sensitive with the ability to encourage and motivate children as well as being able to work effectively in a team. Experience of working with children who display challenging behaviour as a result of SEMH would be highly advantageous. Having knowledge of phonics schemes would work well when working in the schools EYFS.

You may also be required to adapt the National Curriculum to meet the needs of pupils and work according to Individual Educational Healthcare Plans to reflect their development.

All candidates will be required to complete a Full Enhanced DBS Disclosure via the Criminal Records Bureau. Teaching Personnel are committed to the Safeguarding and Equality of all candidates.
