About the Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support teaching and learning in secondary schools. This role involves supporting teachers, delivering lessons to whole classes in the teacher’s absence, and providing targeted support to individuals and small groups.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants looking to progress their career and take on more responsibility within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes when required

Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging learning activities
-
Provide targeted intervention support to individuals and small groups
-
Support students with SEND, EAL, or additional learning needs
-
Assist with classroom management and promote positive behaviour
-
Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
-
Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
What We Are Looking For
-
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA
-
Strong classroom management and communication skills
-
Confidence leading lessons and supervising classes independently
-
A proactive, flexible, and professional approach
-
A passion for supporting young people and education
Requirements

HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
-
GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
-
Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
