Cover Supervisor

Teaching Personnel are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the area. This role involves supervising students during the short-term absence of their regular teacher and ensuring lessons run smoothly using pre-prepared materials.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising whole classes in the absence of the regular teacher

• Delivering pre-set lesson plans and ensuring students remain on task

• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate

• Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons

• Maintaining a safe and positive learning environment

What We Are Looking For

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Confidence working with secondary-aged students (11–16 or 11–18)

• A professional, calm, and adaptable approach

• Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)

• A genuine interest in education

Requirements

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel)

• Right to work in the UK

• Availability for at least 2 days per week (preferred)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
