Behaviour Mentor

Teaching Personnel is recruiting confident and resilient Behaviour Mentors to join our bank of staff supporting secondary school pupils aged 11–16.

This role involves working with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support to help them engage positively with learning and school life.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation. You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural support

• Build positive, professional relationships with pupils

• Support pupils in managing behaviour and emotions

• Promote engagement in lessons and school activities

• Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams

• Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour

Requirements

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people

• Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills

• Calm, patient, and resilient approach

• Ability to build trust and positive relationships

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

• Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
