I’m currently working in partnership with a school in Slough who have asked me to help in their search for a Secondary Teachers to start a full time role in September 2020.
The role is to teach a small class of pupils all on the Autism Spectrum. Each child will have very different needs to the next and will be following their individual EHCPs. The class consists of 6 Teaching Assistants who are highly experienced and specialised in supporting pupils with Autism. Teaching Assistants will support the pupil’s behaviour management, speech language development and emotional needs. They will also be on hand to help prepare resources, track and report the progress of each child to the class teacher.
Responsibilities:
Adapting teaching style to meet each individual unique needs, inside and outside of the classroom
Teaching pupils 121 or in small groups
Liaising with professional including the SALT (speech and language therapist), Educational Psychologists and Social Workers
Preparing lessons and resources
Attending weekly and annual meetings with Senior Leadership and Governors
The school are looking for a Secondary Teachers who has experience teaching pupils with Autism in a Mainstream or Specialist school. The school will offer additional training to staff if required, including Team Teach (behaviour management). The school requires Teachers full time (Monday – Friday) to start in the new academic year. You need to hold a UK QTS, have experience teaching Autism and have a genuine passion to support pupils with additional needs.
