Science Technician – Secondary School – High Peak Area – September 2025 Start

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive secondary school in the High Peak areafor a Science Technician, to start in September 2025. This full-time, term-time position is ideal for someone with a science qualification or laboratory experience who enjoys working behind the scenes to enable high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Duties:

• Prepare equipment, materials and resources for practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics

• Assist teaching staff in demonstrations and during practical sessions where needed

• Maintain the science laboratories, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-stocked

• Conduct routine checks on equipment and manage the safe storage and disposal of chemicals

• Ensure health and safety guidelines (e.g. COSHH) are adhered to at all times

• Keep records of stock levels and liaise with suppliers to order resources when required

Candidate Requirements:

• A qualification in science or experience working in a school lab/technical environment

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Awareness of health and safety practices in laboratory settings

• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching and support staff

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under guidance
