Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools – High Peak Area – ASAP Start

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking Cover Supervisorsto work across a network of secondary schools in the High Peak area, with opportunities for immediate start. Whether you’re a graduate considering a career in teaching, an experienced classroom assistant looking for a new challenge, or someone with relevant youth work experience, this role provides an excellent route into education.

Role Overview:

You will supervise students during lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. Your role is to ensure that learning continues by following the lesson plan provided and maintaining classroom routines and expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson content to classes across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Maintaining positive behaviour and a productive classroom environment

  • Supporting students in staying on task and understanding instructions

  • Providing feedback on class progress to the appropriate staff

  • Assisting with general school duties when not covering lessons

We Are Looking For:

  • Individuals with experience working with young people in any setting (e.g. schools, sports coaching, tutoring, youth work)

  • Confident communicators who can manage groups of secondary-aged students

  • Flexible, professional individuals with a positive and proactive attitude

  • Degree-qualified or educated to A-Level standard (desirable but not essential)

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting pupil development

  • Full support from your Teaching Personnel consultant, including access to CPD and safeguarding training

  • Weekly pay through PAYE

  • A clear route into teaching or permanent school-based roles

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
