Job description

Science Teacher (Temporary – September to Christmas)
Location: Greater Manchester | Contract: Full-Time | Pay: MPS/UPS (Paid to Scale)

A supportive and well-resourced secondary school in Greater Manchester is seeking a qualified Science Teacher to cover a maternity leave from September until the end of the autumn term (Christmas 2025).

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic teacher to join a successful science department in a school with high standards and a strong commitment to student progress.

The Role:

  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Mark, assess and report on student progress

  • Contribute to departmental planning and team collaboration

  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school

  • Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching for all learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
