Science Teacher Required
Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary school based in Wigan who are seeking a full-time Science Teacher to start in September 2025. This is an OFSTED rated ‘Good’ school with an inclusive and welcoming environment which fosters positive learning.
This is a great opportunity for an ECT who is eager to start their career within a mainstream secondary school, or an established Science Teacher who is looking for an exciting new role.
About the role:
- Start Date: 1st September
- Long-term/permanent
- Opportunity to earn £30,000 to £40,000 (dependent on Payscale)
As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons which follow the national curriculum, ensuring to adapt when necessary to suit all learning styles. You will monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing written and live feedback to students. Additionally, you will provide updates on students’ progress through contact with parents/carers on parents evening. Liaising with support staff and members of SLT will also be required in this role.
Requirements:
- QTS or equivalent
- Experience teaching science is required (teacher placements included)
- Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum is necessary
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues and students
- Strong behaviour management and knowledge of current teaching techniques

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
