Science Graduate – Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Warrington
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to appoint a Science Graduate to support one of our partnered Catholic High Schools in Warrington. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate to gain valuable experience working within a supportive school environment, particularly for those considering a future in teaching.
This school is looking to recruit for this position ahead of September with interviews taking place over the summer term.

Full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant role

Supporting the school’s Science department (KS3/KS4)

Working in a well-established Catholic High School in Warrington

Valuable experience prior to a teacher training application

Opportunity to be put forward for teacher training starting September 2026

Role due to start in September 2025
While it is not essential for the successful applicant to be of Catholic faith, it is important that all staff respect and uphold the values and ethos of the school.
Responsibilities will include:

Providing subject-specific support across the Science department
-
Assisting with small group interventions and academic catch-up
-
Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher
-
Supporting with planning, resourcing, and marking where appropriate
Previous experience working with students aged 11–16 is advantageous but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Applicants must hold, or be willing to apply for, a Child Workforce DBS registered to the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
