School Caretaker – Secondary School – Pontypridd
Location: Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf
Pay: £13.75 per hour

Teaching Personnel is seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to work full-time in a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Pontypridd. The school is a medium-sized school, offering ample facilities for the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical maintenance skills and a strong sense of responsibility to play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of a school site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Opening and/or closing the school site at the start or end of the day
• Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks
• Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, clean, and secure
• Managing heating, lighting, and other essential services
• Monitoring the condition of the site and reporting any issues
• Assisting with setting up rooms and moving furniture when required
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

✅ Requirements:

• Previous experience in a caretaker, maintenance, or facilities role (preferred)
• Practical skills in basic repairs, painting, and general upkeep
• Reliability and flexibility to work different shift patterns (morning/evening)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A commitment to maintaining a safe environment for staff, students, and visitors
