Secondary Cover Supervisor – Full Time
Location: Pontyclun, CF72
Pay: Starting at £110 per day

Are you confident working with secondary school children and passionate about supporting their learning? We’re working with a friendly and supportive secondary school in Pontyclun that is looking for a Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis.


Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cover Supervisor in a secondary setting, you’ll play a key role in maintaining learning continuity during teacher absences. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and delivering pre-prepared lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Maintaining a focused, safe, and engaging classroom environment
  • Managing behaviour in line with school policies
  • Taking registers and following safeguarding procedures
  • Supporting students with their work and encouraging positive participation

What We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school
  • Are confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic
  • Possess strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Have an understanding of the secondary curriculum (desirable but not essential)
  • Are committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

If you don’t have these yet, we can support you in obtaining:

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Two professional references covering the past two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
