EYFS Class Teacher
Full-time role
Primary School near Yeadon
Your opportunity
A primary school in North Leeds near Yeadon and Guiseley requires a full time EYFS teacher. The school are looking for a suitable candidate to start January 2021 until March 2021 with the view to continue until the end of the academic year if they have a successful term in school. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the EYFS Framework. In addition, you must have experience teaching Phonics, particularly Letters and Sounds. The Head Teacher is willing to consider NQTs as well as experienced teachers for this role.
About the school
The school provides an ideal EYFS setting including well organised outdoor provision, a wide variety of structured continuous provision and challenge areas. At the beginning of the academic year a high percentage of children started school not ‘school ready’ and required support in fundamental skills such as toileting, speech and language and communication skills. Based on previous years, the Head Teacher has already assigned two teaching assistants to work in the EYFS class since September. By January the cohort will be in a good classroom routine and able to follow the daily structure. Generally good progress is made by the pupils throughout EYFS, KS1 and KS2 and behaviour on the whole is excellent. The Head Teacher leads the school well and the SLT and teaching staff have high standards across the board.
Successful applicants will need to:
- Hold QTS
- Have recent EYFS teaching experience
- Experience using the EYFS Framework
- The ability to motivate and lead pupils
- Have a passion for education
- Be willing to work as part of a team
- Have high expectations of children’s attainment and behaviour
- Be committed to the role
- Hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
