Qualified Humanities Teacher
Job description
Are you a passionate Humanities specialist ready to inspire the next generation of learners? We are seeking a dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Brent. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to deliver engaging lessons and contribute to the continued success of a supportive department.
The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching for suitable applicants. We welcome applications from teachers of History, Geography, or Religious Education, who are committed to high standards, motivated by student success, and eager to make a positive impact both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver inspiring Humanities lessons that stretch and challenge learners of all abilities.

Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback that drives improvement and achievement.

Create a safe, stimulating classroom environment where students feel supported, valued and motivated.

Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work and innovative teaching strategies within the department.

Play an active role in extracurricular activities, trips and enrichment opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to ensure the best outcomes for every student.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with the ability to teach Humanities subjects at KS3 and KS4.

Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History, Geography or Religious Education.

The ability to engage, challenge and motivate students, fostering curiosity and critical thinking.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to contribute effectively as part of a team.

Dedication to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
