History Teacher

The Role
As a History Teacher in this forward-thinking school, you will be responsible for delivering high quality lessons that challenge, motivate and support students of all abilities. You will have a strong command of your subject knowledge and the ability to plan creative schemes of work that bring historical events and themes to life. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4 that are ambitious, differentiated and in line with the national curriculum.

• Using a range of strategies to ensure lessons are inclusive and engaging for all learners, including those with SEN and EAL needs.

• Preparing students for GCSE examinations through targeted teaching, effective assessment and personalised support.

• Promoting curiosity, debate and independent thinking through historical enquiry and source analysis.

• Contributing to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular clubs, trips and enrichment activities.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic History Teacher who is committed to ensuring students achieve their best outcomes. Essential requirements include:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Strong academic background in History or a related subject.

• Ability to plan, deliver and assess high quality lessons that engage and challenge students.

• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting the wellbeing of all students.

• Excellent classroom management skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues.
