Psychology graduate opportunity working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) unit in Poole - starting this September!

We are working closely with a mainstream primary school in Poole who are looking to appoint Special Needs and/or Early Years experienced psychology graduates to support pupils within the school’s autism department. The role is full time (school hours) starting in September 2020 and will be for one school term initially, with the potential to be extended for the right candidate. You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups with catch up learning, social development and care.
The successful psychology graduate will work as a SEN teaching assistant supporting children across EYFS – KS1 with learning and development programmes. Graduates will also assist with assessing, designing and planning these development programmes alongside therapists, senior staff and SEN specialists.
With some pupils with additional developmental difficulties, speech and language needs and social needs alongside their autism diagnosis having SEN experience is beneficial.

If you have experience in any of the following send your CV today:
- Psychology graduate (UK recognised only)
- As an Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Assistant supporting children autism or EHCPs
- Supporting Autism spectrum condition, speech and language and/or emotional difficulties
- On placement working with special needs, in hospitals and/or with children
- Supporting with personal care, speech and language therapy and/or therapy
- Using Makaton, PECS, TEACCH and/or signalong
- With de-escalation training such as Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
