Teaching Personnel are looking for Private Tutors to work on a 1-1 basis with students that do not attend school full time. If you have sound knowledge of educational subjects and the national curriculum, as well as excellent patience and communication skills, working as a one of our Tutors can offer a flexible work/life balance to suit your lifestyle.

Our Tutors work with students that are not attending school full time, this could be as a result of a permanent exclusion, or it could be a Looked After Child in care. You'll provide tailored tuition and may offer specialist skills, methods or approaches to support individual learning needs.

You don't have to be a qualified teacher, or have an official teaching qualification but you will need experience in planning and preparing effective and engaging sessions that help students progress in their study and learning. You will be required to apply effective methods of understanding and problem solving, and prepare effectively for exams or tests.

As a Tutor for Teaching Personnel, you'll need to:

  • schedule and plan individual tutoring sessions for your students
  • provide tuition that is appropriate for the individual's needs and study level
  • maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum
  • use relevant tutoring methods and materials
  • produce progress reports
  • deliver a professional service

The finer details…

  • Lessons are typically 1-2 hours long, up to 3 times a week
  • Lessons usually take place at a student's home, or at a public place such as a library or community centre
  • Key Stages can vary from KS1 through to KS4, with many seeking help for specific examinations, such as SATs, GCSEs or A-Levels
  • You can take on as much or as little tuition as you wish, the only limit is your own diary
  • We will obtain a referral form from the carer of the student, detailing their ability levels which will then be passed to you to prepare suitable sessions
  • You will be required to log weekly feedback on the student's progress which will be sent directly to the school that the student is on roll with
