Become a Functional Skills Tutor in Nottingham!

Are you passionate about helping individuals develop essential life skills in English and Maths?

TP Tutors, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to support learners across the Nottingham area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by delivering personalised 1:1 tuition that builds confidence and helps learners achieve recognised qualifications.

This role is available Wednesday to Friday, with flexible daytime hours, supporting learners through tailored Functional Skills sessions.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 Functional Skills tuition in English and Maths

  • Support learners of varying ages and abilities working towards accredited qualifications

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs

  • Create a supportive learning environment that builds confidence and independence

  • Track learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback


What We're Looking For

  • Functional Skills qualification (FQT) – required

  • Proven experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and Maths

  • Strong understanding of the Functional Skills curriculum and assessment methods

  • Excellent communication and motivational skills

  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches for diverse learners

  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one and subscribe to the Update Service)

  • Competitive pay: £25–£30 per hour (depending on experience)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
