Job Title: 1:1 Tutor – CH41, Birkenhead

Location: CH41, Birkenhead
Position: 1:1 Tutor
Hours: Flexible (part-time/Monday to Friday)
Pay: Competitive rates (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Tutor to support a learner in the CH41, Birkenhead area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact by delivering personalised education tailored to the student's individual needs, helping them build confidence and achieve their learning goals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised one-to-one tuition.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet the learner's individual needs and abilities.
  • Build a positive, supportive relationship with the student.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of sessions and student development.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience tutoring, teaching, or supporting children or young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate learners.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification.
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, or those educated outside of mainstream settings.
  • Experience preparing students for GCSEs, Functional Skills, or other qualifications.
