Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Bank SEN Teaching Assistants to support a specialist education setting near Frome. This role offers flexible working hours, making it ideal for candidates seeking part-time or full-time supply work.

You will support students mainly within secondary age groups, working closely with teachers to help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop important life skills.

The school supports young people aged 6 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Conditions, including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated needs.

Staff work together to create a calm, structured and predictable environment where students can develop independence and self-belief.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students 1 to 1 and in small groups during lessons

  • Adapt support to meet individual learning and emotional needs

 

Requirements

  • At least 6 months childcare experience, ideally supporting children with SEN

  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
