Job description

A fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming and well-established specialist school in Yeovil, Somerset. The school prides itself on its inclusive, supportive environment and strong focus on pupil development. You will support students aged 5 to 16, working at KS1 and KS2 learning levels, with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) including autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Secondary phase work is also available, offering variety in your role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support pre-planned lessons across the classroom
  • Lead learning activities for small groups and whole classes
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with complex SEN needs
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Assist with planning and adapting learning materials
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and wider support staff

 

Working Hours

  • Full-time, immediate start
  • Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm
  • Long-term opportunity 

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience (essential)
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • HLTA qualification or relevant experience desirable
  • Confident leading learning and supporting class delivery
  • Patient, proactive and adaptable approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
