Portuguese Translator - York

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a translator to support a Year 10 male student, across a Special Needs School and Alternative Provision in York. The student has a range of additional needs, including behavioural difficulties and learning difficulties. He is originally from Brazil and therefore needs a Teaching Assistant who can speak and write Brazilian Portuguese fluently. 

This is a part time position to start on the 12th of February, or early March. The hours are as follows:

  • Tuesday 0845 - 1530
  • Wednesday 0845 - 1300
  • Thursday 0845 - 1300
  • Friday 0845 - 1300

If you are able to accommodate these hours and have knowledge or experience of supporting those with additional needs, Teaching Personnel are keen to speak to you as soon as possible! 

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Fluent in written and verbal Portuguese
  • Able to manage behavioural difficulties on a 1:1 basis
  • Knowledge and understanding of de-escalation skills and techniques
  • Availability until July 2020 with the advertised timetable
