Experienced SEN Support Assistant Required for Specialist School in North Leeds

  • Experienced in supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
  • Moving and handling and/or Team Teach Qualifications (or the desire to undertake training) is essential
  • Available full time - 5 days a week during term time

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Specialist School in North Leeds who are seeking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a full time role, working 5 days a week during term time.

You will have experience supporting pupils with complex needs and have the ability to implement a differentiated curriculum - designed to meet the social and emotional needs of learners with complex physical and medical needs. You will have excellent communication skills in order to liaise with a multi-disciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, medical staff and parents. Pupils may also use alternative communication methods such as PECS or inclusive technology and communication aids, so experience in supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs is desirable. It is also highly desirable that you possess moving and handling and/or team teach training certificates (or have the desire to complete these as part of your role). Due to the nature of pupil needs, it is also essential that you are able to deliver personal care.

For more information, or to register with Teaching Personnel and apply for this role, please call Rebecca Holden on 0113 224 0234 or email rebecca.holden@teachingpersonnel.com
