PE Teacher required for SEN School

A Specialist School in Preston are seeking a PE Teacher from September 2019.

The school is a good school with outstanding features who continue to improve provision and success for all pupils. If you have a drive and desire to support children and young people with learning difficulties to develop into confident and successful adults, we welcome your application. The school is a small Special School supporting the development of Primary and Secondary pupils who have statements for Special Educational Needs. Their learning difficulties are wide and varied and continue to be more complex and complicated year on year. The school are keen to appoint an outstanding PE teacher who is able to teach across all key stages with an established record of working with groups of pupils with a wide range of SEN, in order to meet the very diverse needs of our pupils. The successful candidate will also have duties associated with form tutor requirements and be expected to take on a subject leader role. Candidates will need to have enthusiasm and stamina in order to meet the needs of the young people on a daily basis.

Essential Qualifications: QTS Status, BA (Hons) or BEd (Hons) Degree with specialism in Physical Education.

Desirable Qualifications: SEN qualification.

Essential Experience: Experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs. Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour. Good classroom practitioner with evidence of setting appropriate expectations to advance learning by engaging and motivating pupils.

Desirable Experience: Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment (special school/short stay school).
