Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across a range of welcoming primary schools throughout South Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for confident and motivated HLTAs who are passionate about supporting children's education and are looking for flexible work or long-term placements in local schools.
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted interventions, and confidently lead whole-class learning when required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Leading small group and one-to-one intervention sessions.
- Working alongside teachers to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities.
- Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where appropriate.
- Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
What We're Looking For
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A recognised Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or another relevant Level 4 qualification that enables you to work as an HLTA.
- Previous experience working within a UK primary school.
- Confidence leading whole-class learning and covering lessons independently.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, flexible and positive approach to supporting pupils and staff.
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
