PE Teacher

Teaching Personnel are a Preferred Supplier for The National Procurement Service and help schools across Wales find the best educators for their school. We are currently looking for a PE Teacher to start in one of our partnership school in September. This secondary school based in Monmouthshire is an 11 to 18 mixed school serving the town and the surrounding area and maintained by Monmouthshire County Council. The school has 1,312 pupils including 170 in the sixth form. In the school’s latest inspection ESTYN commented that many pupils make strong progress in their subject knowledge, understanding and skills. In three of the last four years, outcomes for pupils in key stage 4 compare favourably with those of similar schools in many performance indicators.

PE Teacher Responsibilities:

• Make a positive impact on the experience young people receive through PE and Sport
• Ensure lessons are planned in accordance with departmental scheme of work
• Assess, record, report on progress / attainment of pupils
• Manage, coach, and officiate sport teams
• Be passionate about the subject and communication well with young people
• Contribute to a full and extensive extracurricular programme

PE Teacher Requirements:

• Can teach PE up to Key Stage 4
• Ability coach/teach a range of different sports
• Positive role model to all pupils
• Ability to differentiate lesson for all abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
